Abstract: Liver fibrosis is a pathological process characterized by intrahepatic diffuse excess deposition of extracellular matrix(ECM),and hepatic stellate cells (HSC) activation. This article mainly reviewed the changes of various components of ECM,the molecular structure and the spatial structure of the ECM in the process of hepatic fibrosis. And we also summarized the mechanism by which the effects of these changes on the activation, proliferation and apoptosis of HSCs.
