Abstract: Objective To study the related factors of a sustained virologic response in patients with chronic hepatitis C genotype 1.Methods A total of 73 de novo chronic hepatitis C genotype 1 patients received combination therapy of peginterferon alpha and ribavirin for 24 to 48 weeks and were followed-up for 24 weeks. Results 47.9% of patient achieved an early viral response and 38.4% of patients got an sustained viral response;Statistical analysis indicated that patients with lower baseline HCV load(<8×105 IU/ml),lower body mass index and early viral response would achieve sustained viral response(SVR).Conclusion Baseline HCV load, BMI and early viral response are related to achieving SVR in de novo hepatitis C genotype 1 patients.
