Endogenous alcohol in non–alcoholic fatty liver disease

Abstract: Similar pathologic characteristics between non–alcoholic fatty liver disease and alcoholic liver disease presents a new direction for the hepatologists worldwide that endogenous alcohol may play important role in the development of non–alcoholic fatty liver disease. The closed relationship among endogenous alcohol and liver,intestine,intestinal flora and non–alcoholic fatty liver disease provides a new sight to explain the pathogenesis of non–alcoholic fatty liver diseases.
