Investigation of neutrophil and platelet counts in patients with chronic hepatitis B receiving interferon-α-2b treatment

Abstract: Objective To investigate the changes of blood neutrophils and platelets in patients with chronic hepatitis B during the use of ordinary IFN-α -2b treatment.Methods 24 patients with chronic hepatitis B receiving ordinary IFN-α-2b treatment were followed-up for 48 weeks.Result After the use of IFN-α-2b,the obvious decrease of neutrophil and platelet counts appeared in the second week and fourth week,respectively,and both of them recovered gradually thereafter.Conclusion The decrease of neutrophils and platelets in blood during the use of ordinary IFN-α-2b is reversible and the outcome is good.
