Simultaneous three endoscopic operation in combination with balloon nasobiliary drainage in treatment of patients with gallbladder stones and common bile duct stones

Abstract: Objective The aim of this study was to investigate simultaneous three endoscopic (e.g., laparoscope, choledochoscope and duodenoscope) operation in combination with balloon nasobiliary drainage in treatment of patients with gallbladder stones and common bile duct stones. Methods 92 patients with gallbladder stones and common bile duct stones were encountered in our hospital between June 2020 and December 2024, of them, 46 patients in control group received laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) and laparoscopic choledocholithotomy with T-tube drainage, and another 46 patients in observation group received simultaneous three endoscopic operations and balloon nasobiliary drainage treatment. Serum C-reactive protein, interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-α levels were detected by ELISA. Results Operation time in the observation group was (78.5±12.3)min,much longer than [(65.2±10.1)min,P<0.05], while postoperative first exhaust time was(18.5±3.2)h,much shorter than [(24.3±4.1)h,P<0.05] in the control group,and stone clearance rates in the two groups were 97.8% vs. 95.7%,not significantly different (P>0.05);pre- or post-operationally, serum liver function tests and cytokine levels didn’t significantly be different between the two groups(P>0.05);post-operationally, incidences of adverse effects, such as bile leakage, bleeding, infection and pancreatitis were not significantly different between the two groups(6.5% vs. 6.5%, P>0.05). Conclusion Simultaneous three endoscopic operations and balloon nasobiliary drainage could optimize surgery protocol, which might improve quality of life in patients with gallbladder stones and common bile duct stones and is worthy of further clinical verification.
