Roles ofhepatic macrophages in several common liver diseases

Abstract: Objective Macrophages play a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis and repairing tissue damage. Macrophages in the liver can be further divided into Kupffer cells with self-renewal capacity, as well as monocyte-derived macrophages. On the one hand, macrophages can resist the damage of viruses, drugs and other unfavorable factors, and promote the recovery of liver tissue injuries; On the other hand, it also promote the recovery of hepatitis and cirrhosis. In this review, we focus on recent research advances in the classification and functions of liver macrophages and their roles in different liver diseases.
