Pyroptosis and its roles in hepatocellular carcinogenesis

Abstract: Objective The pyroptosis is an inflammatory programmed cell death,which is characterized by the formation of plasma membrane pores mediated by caspase and the release of a large number of inflammatory mediators.In recent years,the morphological characteristics,induction mechanism and action process of pyroptosis have been gradually revealed. The pyroptosis is related to the progress of many diseases,especially in the pathogenesis of malignant tumors. In this article, we reviewed the pyroptosis and its roles in the occurrence,development and treatment of patients with hepatocellular carcinoma.
